The first day of school for Scottsdale Unified School District students is Monday, August 10, 2026. We are excited to welcome students back for a new year of learning, growth, and opportunity. We look forward to seeing our students back on campus and ready to learn.

As part of a pilot program designed to reduce the number of early release days during the school year, the Governing Board has approved the following calendar changes:

In a few short weeks, the teachers and administrators will be configuring our classes for next year. Class placement is a very challenging process that considers teacher, parent, and administrator input. The goal of this process is to create classes that promote high achievement for all students through a heterogeneous balance. Heterogeneous classes have a balance that reflects gender, ability, and special needs. This balance allows for diversity within each classroom. Our staff will work very diligently toward this goal! For us to accomplish this goal, we will not honor specific teacher requests. Forms with specific teacher names will be discarded.

SUSD is launching a dynamic, cross-district Math Strategic Action Team—and we want your voice at the table!

SUSD is launching the SPARK Team, a districtwide strategic action team focused on strengthening and sustaining our signature programs, including STEAM/MSA, IB, Dual Language Immersion, Traditional, AVID, and CGP.
We are inviting parents and community members to apply to participate in this collaborative work. The SPARK Team will help guide continuous improvement, explore future program opportunities, and ensure our signature programs remain strong, sustainable, and aligned with student and community needs.
