• Take Your Child to Work – After School is Out

 Scottsdale Unified School District and other schools across the Valley encourage parents to take their children to the workplace for a learning experience – after school is out for the summer. Districts around the Valley are recommending June 19 as a preferred date for Take Your Child to Work Day.

The national date, April 24, comes at a particularly difficult time for students who are working hard to complete their school work for the year. Taking children to work after the school year ends allows them to learn from their visit to the workplace without missing a single precious day of school

• Scottsdale Republic Features SUSD Teachers

  Do you know an outstanding teacher in the Scottsdale Unified School District? Would you like that teacher to be recognized in the newspaper? The Scottsdale Republic is running a weekly feature highlighting a different SUSD teacher each week. To nominate a teacher for this feature, simply fill out the online Teacher Nomination Form (http://www.susd.org/district/communications/teachernominationform.cfm).

• Preschool Program Available for 3-5 year olds

Looking for a preschool program for your 3-5year with a talented staff and small class sizes?  The PANDA (Preschool for Assessed Needs in Developmental Areas) Preschool Programs in Scottsdale Unified School District have openings for peer models.

The peer models are typically developing children who are enrolled in the PANDA program to provide strong language and behavior models for the special needs preschoolers enrolled.  Each classroom operates 4 days a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) for 2 ½ hours in morning or afternoon sessions.  The maximum class size is 12 with at least 3 teaching staff.  The fee is $30 per week and parents must provide transportation.
